Audiobook subscriptions compared: Audiobooks.com, Audible, Libro.fm and more
We checked the public pages of six ways to listen and put the facts side by side. Audiobooks.com is the one we earn a commission from, so we feature it, but it isn't the cheapest headline price.

Buying one book vs using a credit
Audiobooks.com lets you buy a title outright or redeem a credit. These are the list prices on its best-sellers page on October 28, 2026, set against the $14.95 monthly credit price:
- Iron Flame (28 hr 17 min): $35.99 to buy; one credit costs $14.95 on the 1-credit plan, about $21.04 less.
- Fourth Wing (22 hr 2 min): $30.99 to buy; one credit costs $14.95 on the 1-credit plan, about $16.04 less.
- A Court of Thorns and Roses (16 hr 7 min): $25.99 to buy; one credit costs $14.95 on the 1-credit plan, about $11.04 less.
- The Housemaid (9 hr 41 min): $24.99 to buy; one credit costs $14.95 on the 1-credit plan, about $10.04 less.
- Dear Debbie (7 hr 40 min): $20.99 to buy; one credit costs $14.95 on the 1-credit plan, about $6.04 less.
- The Summer I Turned Pretty (6 hr 0 min): $18.99 to buy; one credit costs $14.95 on the 1-credit plan, about $4.04 less.
- Tuesdays with Morrie (3 hr 51 min): $9.95 to buy; one credit costs $14.95 on the 1-credit plan, about $5.00 more than buying it outright.
So a credit is worth more when you'd otherwise pay for long or full-price titles, and less for short or discounted ones. It only pays off if you'd really buy about one title a month. We didn't compare other stores' per-book prices because they vary by title and we couldn't verify them reliably, so check the specific book before you decide.
Which one fits you

- You read ebooks as well as listen: Everand.
- You only listen a little and already pay for Spotify: Spotify Premium's 15 hours a month may be enough.
